Sunflower Variations at Foxtrot Farm & Flowers
In November 2024, Sunflower Variations was exhibited in a renovated antique barn on a working flower farm in New York’s Hudson Valley.
The concept for the installation emerged while I was developing the Sunflower Variations artist book. Kate Farrar of Foxtrot Farm and Flowers generously offered her barn as the exhibition space. The installation was a way for viewers to “step inside” the book and engage with the works in a three-dimensional environment. Presenting Sunflowers on a flower farm preparing for winter felt especially fitting as an image of resilience and renewal.
The opening fundraiser was catered by Daniel Meissner, who crafted a fantastic menu inspired by Ukraine while also showcasing local providers. Collecting recipes for the flavored horilkas and compote was a wonderful way to connect with my friends and family. A big thank-you to everyone who attended!
